President
As President and founder of Baird, Blackburn & Associates, PC Russ graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS
Degree in Accounting in 1983 and received his license to practice public
accounting from the State of Utah in 1988. Russ has spent his career
providing, audit, tax, business consulting and financial planning
services to public and private organizations as well as individuals.
Russ devotes a significant number of educational hours
annually to the study of auditing, accounting, tax and financial
planning issues. In 1998 Russ was awarded a Certificate of Educational
Achievement in Government Auditing from the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants.
Having a passion for investment analysis, Russ has
received training in the securities industry and commits significant
time and study to stay abreast of developments in that area.
For years Russell has been directly involved in the Utah Association of
Certified Public Accountants, serving as committee member, committee
chairman of the Small Business Committee, and on the Executive Board.
As a registered Peer Reviewer under the AICPA peer review program Russ
performs a number of peer reviews in the Western States each year for
other CPA firms.
Russ and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of three children. Russ
enjoys spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren, in
outdoor activities such as boating, hiking, biking, running and
participating in Triathlons.
